INTEGRATING BLENDED LEARNING APPROACH FOR BUSINESS EDUCATION STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN COVID-19 ERA

The study examined how blended learning could enhance students’ academic achievement in the Covid-19 era in Delta State Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. Four research hypotheses guided the study. A structured questionnaire was designed to generate data for study. The sample consisted of thirty (30) NCE Business Education student’s from three Colleges of Education in Delta state. The sample size was drawn using stratified random sampling technique. The data generated were analyzed using t-test statistics. Findings revealed that the extent to which students are exposed to practical application of interactive and communication software in teaching-learning process is low. The study also showed that the extent to which practical approach to ICT course could produce employable global workers among Business Education students is high. Findings from the hypotheses revealed there that the response of male and female students do not differ significantly that online rotation lab blended learning will enhance students’ skill, face-to-face driver blended learning will improve students’ communication capabilities, flex blended learning will enhance students entrepreneurial creativity, Station Rotation Blended Learning will significantly boost students’ problem-solving skills and Blended Learning will significantly enhance students’ Presentation Skills. It was recommended that educational institutions in Nigeria should make frantic effort to provide and encourage teaching-leaning process through blended learning in Business Education. Lecturers in Business Education should endeavour to go for self training without waiting on the institution. Students should be sensitized on the need and use of blended learning so as to get their maximum cooperation and full engagement. In applying blended learning model, expected performance variables should be built into the teaching learning process such that students will experience mastery of knowledge and skills.
