DISTRIBUTIONAL JUSTICE AND EMPLOYEE COMMITMENT IN COMMUNICATION COMPANIES IN RIVERS STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract
Distributive Justice is an outcome that is distributed proportional to inputs based on equity principle. It is the subjective evaluation of the employees’ to the extent to which outcomes such as wages, promotions, work roles and workloads are distributed fairly to the employees, Colquitt et al. (2011). To achieve distributive justice when applied appropriately, three allocation rules are to be applied, they are equality (to each the same), equity (to each in accordance with contributions) and need (to each in accordance with the most urgency) Cropanzano, et al. (2017). In other words, distributive justice focuses on the degree of perceived fairness in the distribution and allocation of outcomes within an organization based upon the inputs, Rani et al. (2012).
