Abstract

This study examines social media management in Edo State, Nigeria, emphasizing its function as a vital instrument for political involvement, mobilization, and communication. Social media is becoming more and more popular, and politicians and political parties are using it to interact with voters, share information, and sway public opinion. The study looks at the tactics used by political players to control their online personas, how social media affects voting patterns, and the difficulties posed by disinformation and digital divisions. This study shows that good social media management may increase political exposure and promote democratic engagement through both qualitative and quantitative assessments. But it also highlights important issues, such as the proliferation of false information and the requirement that voters to be digitally literate. The results highlight the need for thorough social media regulations and education initiatives to empower both citizens and political players. This study advances our knowledge of how social media and politics interact in Edo State and provides guidance for future election tactics and governance.
