Abstract

The paper investigated insect pollinators and how they affect food security. In a world grappling with climate change that has adversely affected food production, and has, with good reason, raised concerns about food security, it is important, perhaps now than ever before, that we see and realize the importance of these insects that are integral to our surviving as humankind.

Certain practices that will protect insect pollinators and improve soil fertility and structure such as: planting of trees in and around fields that will mimic the natural environment and allow beneficial insects to thrive; minimal tillage of crops; and crop rotation with legumes were studied in the course of this review
