Abstract

This study considered some contributions of phases of management thought to the evolution of organizational behaviour. The development of management thought dates back to human existence and the quest to better provide an organization that captures both individual and collective interests. The various schools of management thought completely centered on people and how to better utilize them. These schools of management thought actually defined the emergence of organizational behaviour. However, organizational behaviour is multidisciplinary in nature. The   importance of organizational behaviour within the context of various management phases steams from the organizational questions that had confronted organizations in time past.  Questions such as; why individual behaviour in certain ways within the organization, why managers consistently seek for means to design jobs, etc.  The result of these management phases has expounded the application of organizational behaviour within the context of organizational practice.
