Abstract

The study investigated the impact of internal control system on fraud detection in deposit money banks in Rivers State. The findings of the study revealed that; the adoption of detective control measures significantly impact the detection of fictitious transactions fraud in deposit money banks in Rivers State, which implies that the detective internal control measures adopted by deposit money banks in Rivers State greatly impact the detection of fictitious transactions fraud by the management of the banks. Also, the study revealed that the adoption of preventive internal control measures does not significantly impact the detection of fraudulent use of documents fraud in deposit money banks in Rivers State
