ESPOUSING INFORMATION RECOVERY STRATEGIES: A CATALYST TO ADMINISTRATIVE EFFICIENCY

Abstract

This paper examines the concept of espousing information recovery strategies as a catalyst to administrative efficiency in an organisational context. Its main goal is to analyse the relationships between relevant aspects of information recovery including recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO) on one hand and measures of administrative efficiency including cost efficiency and process efficiency on the other hand.  To accomplish the above-mentioned objective, the study adopts the form of systematic review of literature already available. Using a qualitative content analysis of the selected works, the paper shows that a good information recovery strategy will increase the efficiency of administration materially in terms of downtime, efficient allocation of financial resources, and maintenance of continuous workflow.  The results highlight the crucial need for implementing effective information recovery strategies for better administrative efficiency. Organisational leadership is urged to consciously invest in enhanced recovery technologies and to align RPO and RTO objectives strategically with bigger cost and process efficiency objectives in order tooptimise performance more broadly in terms of administration.
